Our Durango Jeep tour travels up La Plata Canyon, a rugged ravine nestled in an alpine paradise.

Here in this glacially sculpted landscape, you’ll find waterfalls cascading into the canyon, hallways of glimmering aspens, countless wildflowers, wildlife scurrying between the meadows, and panoramic views of Colorado's most beautiful Rocky Mountains. Like we said, paradise!

Our fun-loving and experienced guides are Durango locals, who know this canyon's rich history and ecology like nobody else. While other outfitters tend to let the scenery do all the work for them, our guides give you a wealth of insight about what makes this area incredibly special. They're also talented drivers who will get you up this rutted trail without a hitch.

Most people don't want to take their own vehicles up this old mining route, and our open-air Jeeps are customized for a smoother ride— although it will still be bumpy about half way through. It's all a part of the fun!

Had a good day of weather, a very informed guide, and a wild ride in the old truck up the mountain roads. Lots f great views and history of the area.

On July 11, 2019, my 80 yr old parents, my sons, and myself, took the 8:30 am jeep tour to the La Plata Mountains. Jay was our driver and we cannot say enough good things about him. It was no ordinary tour, because about mid way up the mountain my dad had a horrific reaction to, not only the altitude but dehydration as well. Jay was a fantastic and knowledgeable guide the whole trip and after my dad's episode he continued to handle the situation with kindness and kept us all calm as we travelled down the mountain, making stops as necessary and talking my dad through the ordeal. While on the tour, my mother fell and got several cuts, which Jay bandaged up for her. The story doesn't end at the bottom of the mountain, because Jay continued to check on mom and dad for several days after the incident. A manager ( I am sorry I cannot remember her name) called to check on dad as well. She was very kind and suggested we visit the ER to make sure he was ok. Dad visited the ER and was released that evening. He was able to complete the rest of our trip with few issues. We were so blessed to have Jay as our guide. He went way, way above and beyond what was required of him. Jay's actions and kindness meant more to us than we could possibly express. Mild to Wild....... you're tours are amazing, and your tour guides make it what it is.........especially Jay! Thank you!! By the way, the tour was absolutely beautiful. We strongly encourage you to go see the beauty of the La Plata mountains!!

We had so much fun. What a beautiful place and an amazing experience. We were fortunate that it was just myself and my two teenage kids 19 and 16. We took the afternoon tour. Our tour guide Jared was awesome. He was very informative and took time to show us some beautiful spots.
