À quoi s'attendre
1
The Amish Farm and House
At the start of your tour, you will be welcomed into our farmhouse for a guided 30 minute tour. During this tour, a guide will teach you about Amish history, religion, and clothing as you walk through each room of our historic farmhouse. This is a great tour to start with as it will give you a good base knowledge before arriving to the Amish homes. It's amazing to see their different appliances and their "modern take" on electricity. Our farm house is the first Amish attraction in the United States. The farmhouse was built in 1805 and the last family to live here was in 1955. When you return to our farmhouse you can visit with our animals and artisans. We even have an Amish schoolhouse and covered bridge.
2
The Amish Farm and House
After your guided house and bus tour, you are free to explore our 15-acre farm. We have lots of animals for you to visit with and historic barns and buildings. We also have an Amish-one room schoolhouse for you to visit by yourself. Don't miss riding on the Amish scooters, they are so much fun! This is a self-guided tour that you can do before or after your guided tours. If you select the 2pm tour, we suggest you come early!
3
Amish Country
Next, jump on our spacious minivans and we'll guide you through the beautiful Amish farmlands. The bus will stop at three authentic Amish homes. At each home, mom, dad, and their children will allow you to sample Christmas cookies and chit chat about Christmas traditions. You'll leave each home with a variety of cookies and recipes to make at home. We suggest bringing extra cash to purchase more baked goods and handmade items from the Amish families.

My family and I really enjoyed this event! It was well-run and organized, and the Amish families we visited were very warm and welcoming. It was a unique opportunity to learn about the Amish and how they live, and their Christmas cookies were delicious! I’m looking forward to trying a couple of the recipes they shared with us.

The tour was so informative! Both the guide in the Amish house and the bus tour guide were so knowledgeable and Had more information to share than time allowed. The families that we visited for cookies were so kind, welcoming and sweet to have opened up their homes! The baby goat cuddling was an added bonus. It was such a fun learning experience and I will definitely be back with my kids!

It was a great day all around despite the wet weather. What a great start to the holiday season: cookies, goats, Santa and a wonderful specialty tour inside the Amish homes. Thank you for participating and writing a review. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

This was a Christmas gift from my husband and I to my parents. It was also a Christmas gift from my husband to me because I love learning about Amish culture. What an enjoyable day! We learned so much during the house tour about the history of the Amish people, and then we learned so much about how the Amish live today on the bus tour through the beautiful Lancaster County countryside. The best treat was visiting the 3 Amish homes in which we were able to chat with the Amish families and sample their yummy Christmas cookies, as well as purchase extra cookies and handmade crafts. I learned a little more about what the Amish 2nd Christmas is and about how the Amish celebrate Christmas. Being a native to Lancaster County, it’s amazing how much I don’t know about the Amish, but I gleaned a little more insight into their culture through this tour. Thank you to each family who graciously opened their homes to us. And thank you to the Amish Farm and House for arranging this tour. I appreciate how your establishment truly aims to be respectful of the Amish while educating curious folks/tourists/Lancaster natives at the same time. You do an outstanding job of that. A shout out to the staff at the Amish Farm and House - everyone is amazing!!! So kind and friendly and willing to assist you. Customer service is top notch. Merry Christmas!

Wow. We couldn't ask for a better review. We all do our best to provide a unique, educational and enjoyable tour to our guests. This year's new Christmas cookie tour seems to have really hit the mark. We have had so much positive feedback and we so enjoyed doing it, that we plan to do it again next year. Thank you for taking part in our inaugural tour and for taking the time to write about your experience.
