We found Ken on Trip Advisor, after looking at reviews of other bus tours. Having a former MV docent walk us through the grounds, with lots of historical anecdotes and little known facts was very nice. He provided umbrellas and also gave us a driving tour of Alexandria. Treat yourself if you are visiting MV. Thank you Ken!

Thanks for the great review! I really appreciate your sharing your experience with others. Having been a Mount Vernon history interpreter for several years before starting my own private tour company has given me unique insights and knowledge that adds value to my tours.

Ken is a fount of knowledge around the Mount Vernon/Alexandria area. We had a wonderful day with him at the estate and the new Museum of the Army. Ken was able to show us parts of the estate and collection that we may have missed otherwise and really added to our knowledge of President Washington and his family! He picked us up at our Alexandria hotel promptly, and made the process of getting around very easy!

Thanks for the great review. I'm glad you enjoyed the full day tour. There is so much to see in this area. The new Museum of the US Army is still an undiscovered gem.

This pandemic has changed my booking habits to where I am open to traveling but am searching for more “private” tours rather than be sitting with 10-50 strangers touring on an enclosed bus. I was lucky to find “Luxury Tours of Mount Veron” by Ken on a web search. I called Ken and in a matter of minutes, we confirmed our private 4 hours tour. YES, it costs a little more to book private but to me, it’s well worth the cost for the safety aspect (not sitting in a big bus with lots of passengers), not to mention that it’s YOUR tour alone. Ken is such a kind man and a wealth of knowledge of George Washington’s life and the area of beautiful Alexandria and Mount Vernon. Even if sat in a SUV, Ken was smart to use a headset that connected to his FM station so it was easy to hear him. The 4 hours tour went by so quickly! You can honestly spend the entire day at Mount Vernon. The learning & visitor center is very impressive. We really enjoyed our tour and highly recommend you book this private tour with Ken. Mahalo nui from Hawai’i! Lori

Thanks Lori! Wow, what a great review! Thanks for booking with me and for coming all the way from Hawaii! Reviews like yours confirm that my tour is unlike any of the others in that it is private, comprehensive, and geared to the personal interests and endurance of my guests. And, yes, I really did enjoy the macadamia nuts! One of the things I enjoy about giving the tours is meeting people from all over the US. You are my first from Hawaii.
