Private car trip with Ken was one of the best tours I’ve done. We were 5 adults and comfortable in his SUV. Ken is very knowledgeable on George Washington and gives history on the drive down. He walks you through all the grounds and gave a preview of the house tour before which was good as he told us a lot more. Did not realize the value for this tour- awesome. You see the grounds including his tomb, house tour , and then a walk through a very detailed Washington museum. Being our first time in area Ken also suggested Old Town Alexandria , gave us suggestions and dropped us off in town. Highly, highly recommended!!!!

My husband and I used Amtrak to visit Alexandria. Not having a car, I was thinking we might save Mt Vernon for another time. On a whim I scheduled with Ken who picked us up at our Alexandria Hotel and provided a half day Mount Vernon Tour. I had no idea what I was missing just visiting a historic sight, listening to the guides and reading posted information. The tour was very complete and relaxed. I never realized that the grounds of Mt Vernon were so extensive. I do read and enjoy history, Ken's information was accurate and as I am a thirty year educator I considered it very well presented. The tour was well worth the price. Ken agreed to a small detour on our way back into Alexandria to the Jones Point Light House. It is a small river light on the Potomac in Jones Point Park. Ken also gave us a recommendation for Ada's on the River. We had an excellent lunch at Ada's the next day.
