This is a very nice kayaking experience. The water is chill and the feel of the mangrove tunnel is amazingly calm. The tunnel goes on for a long distance. It is not at all tiring and leaves a lasting calming impression on you. You get to see a lot of wildlife in their natural habitat. I even held a mangrove crab in our hands. The guide was also very knowledgeable. No gators in this trip though ;) Also after kayaking take as stroll in the westlake park to see different kinds of lizards.

Small group and early in the morning was actually nice because it was supper peaceful. Also was fun challenge with only little bit of previous kayak experience.

We took the 2-hour guided kayak Mangrove Tunnel tour through the mangrove canals. We booked the tour 3-4 days in advance. Salty Souls met us at the West Lake Park boat ramp and provided all the necessary equipment. They communicated details ahead of time, and answered my questions about the choice of a tandem or single kayak. Since we were beginners, we went with a tandem kayak. In the end I think it was harder to steer the tandem kayak through the tight turns in the first parts of the tour, but it allowed gave us more power to work together during windy open water and gave me a break, when my friend paddled. Next time, I will choose a single kayak. Our guide, Arianna, was extremely knowledgeable mangroves and wild life. It was really fun and educational to be close up close to nature with her guidance. I recommend this activity if you are visiting the area and I would do it again. I also recommend this for locals who want to learn more about their local environment. The guide also send us a link with pictures by the end of the day. Great time!
