One of the best ways to see a city that you have seen a million times in photos and movies in a new amazing way that not everyone gets to experience. The captains are friendly and knowledgeable. The boats are comfortable and fun. Being able to see the city from vantage point of the Hudson and East river is amazing, you get a view few people see. One minute your heading to the Freedom Tower, then your rounding the Battery and seeing the towers of Wall Street and East River bridges, then you’re taking photos of the Empire State Building and Intrepid, and then you’re looking at Lady Liberty herself. It’s a view few people even locals ever get. I never get tired of it. It’s a fun and adventurous way to see the greatest city on earth as few do.

I've enjoyed several trips with New York Media Boat, and recommend it to all my friends and family that visit the city--it's definitely a must-do in my book. I've always had a really wonderful experience with NYMB whenever I go out, and after repeat visits can confidently say that they're a fantastic organization. 1. Their staff is always very responsive, knowledgeable about the city, and attentive to guests' needs. 2. The boat ride is always a blast: In the warmer months you'll have SO MUCH MORE FUN riding on the Hudson seeing landmarks than schlepping past them in the city, covered in sweat and smelling garbage; and in the winter months their dry-suits keep you toasty warm. 3. You'll get unique pictures from the perspective of the river, so you're not just taking the same old NYC tourist snaps that everyone else does. 4. You'll get to see so much more so quickly than you would if you were land based, so if you're pressed for time it's a really great option. In sum, if you come to NYC, you HAVE to go on NYMB. I'm a very avid traveler who's visited hundreds of cities around the world, and this tour stands out.

This was the first thing we did when getting into NYC, and this tour was the foundation for our understanding of the map! Our highly trained Captain Eric was fun, personable, knowledgeable and patient with all passengers especially with regard to photo ops! Before boarding the boat which holds an intimate group of 12 passengers we were offered top shelf outerwear, tops and bottoms, to stay warm and dry. While touring the harbor we heard local anecdotes, history and interesting insights. It was so exciting to skip across the water, kind of like sharing a jet ski with 11 other people!
