Manta Magic - Plongée en apnée nocturne avec les raies manta au village de Manta, Kona, Hawaii

Aperçu
Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

We booked this tour in January and when we are arrived checked out their meeting place. Their office door had a signing saying to show up at 4:30 for the Manta Magic. We did but nobody showed up until 4:45 and then stated that they had switched the venue. The pick up spot was South Kona now at 6 pm. The original tour stated we would get dinner and a preliminary snorkel before sunset. Now we had to drive to an obscure parking lot south of Kona. No one had informed us of the change by email. They phoned our number in Canada that morning but we had arrived the day before. Then they criticized us for not having cell coverage out of country, quite costly. We arrived at the new site but had to guess where to go. We had to walk below private canoe club property to a beach, cross a boat ramp and around a building to their truck in trailer only parking. A manta ray showed up making it worthwhile but once back on shore we had to find our way on a dark night back.

Took the teens to go see some manta rays. Super friendly crew and Micah was fantastic with information and helpful tips. The sunset tour was perfect. Early enough that we were in the water just after sunset, and hardly any other boats there at that time. The manta rays were there almost on cue. We saw at least five, I believe, and they were AMAZING. They came SO close to us, it was stunningly beautiful. My daughter is 14 and a bit nervous in open water, but the guides were great at reassuring her, the wetsuits totally helped. Even once in the water, they were still making sure we were comfortable and moved us around to better positions to see the rays. All in all, this was a fantastic tour. Cannot thank the crew enough for such a great experience.

My bf and I did this tour. It was surreal and complimentary photos! Aaron was super friendly, knowledgeable and energetic. Frank was fantastic as well with driving the boat out. They managed our expectations. As an ethical tour company (listed as one of four on multiple websites & they don't light near the propellors which some companies do, causing terrible injury to mantas when somersaulting to feed near the light) they are working with wild animals. They ask you respect the wildlife. Do not grab or harm or pet them as our hands can be corrosive to their skin. Mantas will not come if they think you will grabbing. Do not expect to 💯 see a million mantas, as they are not caged or chained. We saw a few in the beginning and towards the end we saw 5 all at once, somersaulting, swimming and gliding. Very large wing spans majestic animals and truly a magical experiece.I suggest you wear the wetsuit as you won't be moving much and without activity you get cold. Aaron was amazing and pulled everyone around in very choppy Waters. They offered chips and refreshments before and after we got in the water. Unforgettable and worth it.
