Avoid the crowds of the other "cattle boats" in Kona, and enjoy a small-group manta ray snorkeling experience with a maximum of 12 passengers.

This tour departs from Keahou Harbor in South Kona and enjoys a short 5-minute boat ride to our snorkeling site, Manta Village.

Your Captain and snorkel guide will educate you on Kona's famous manta rays and will discuss our safe and humane approach to engaging with the gentle giants.

After entering the water, you'll hold onto our lightboard, with your feet propped up by floatation devices, as the manta rays perform a graceful ballet beneath you. The manta rays filter feed on plankton that naturally gathers at the surface just before sunset, then accumulates underneath our lights. This is an opportunity to enjoy an evening on the water and watch in amazement as the manta rays glide around and dance for you.

We are proud to be a Green Listed company, and we take an environmentally cautious approach to our interactions with the manta rays.

The best part of this trip was the sunset- we watched from the PIER as we waited for the tour crew & boat to arrive. Be prepared to walk a distance from dirt parking lot & cross over uneven surfaces & rocky path to find boat launch & unmarked boat. There aren’t signs or crew holding a sign- just LOTS of different crews going out for manta tours w/ their boats all over. We were told to be there before 6pm for wetsuit fitting, etc. which we were- but crew & boat wasn’t. We were told could get great pics of sunset from boat, but by the time we were all on boat the sun had gone down. We were told we’d have ‘snacks & beverages’ on tour, but we didn’t. Crew seemed rushed & very laid back so things were missed & not on time. After 45 min we saw a distant manta swim past on sea bottom, then had to leave. It was cold floating that long, even in wetsuit. When returning we were dropped off at dock w/o a crew member & left all our wetsuits in the parking lot- I had to go back & ask if this was ok? These young guys were more interested in socializing than leading our tour group. The boat we were on does NOT look like this one in pic either- it was closed-hull, we couldn’t see out the front at all as it was enclosed w/a small window; no way to take pics as u drive toward a sunset? Communication, organization, time mgmt, and crew interaction was very lacking. This was our last night on island & supposed to be a highlight- but after this experience-then walking back in the DARK unlit areas on Fri.. night past a parking lot shady party (locals) otw to dirt parking lot-we’d wished we’d gone elsewhere. A potential danger just walking in dark to/from tour! Spend your $$$ w/ another group who pays attention & has better customer service & does what is promised in print!! 😕

We had an amazing experience swimming with the Manta Rays! Our captain Frank and Aaron were very knowledgeable on the rays and were able to give us an up close view of them while being very respectful of their environment! They were also conscientious of those of us not so great swimmers! The only reason we gave them 4 stars was the parking instructions and finding the group especially in the dark. Need better signage! Arrive early if you take the later tours! Overall it was a great experience!
