We had a large group of 9 for a nighttime snorkel adventure. All 9 of us agreed it was easily the highlight of the trip. A must-do. Don't be daunted by the price tag, it is well worth the fee, we all agreed we would do it again. The Mantas literally swim up to your face, so many of them, for 45 min straight. The kids were mesmerized and my son now wants to learn to scuba. This was an AMAZING experience.
Drew and Karen were incredible guides and worked their butts off to ensure we have a fabulous time. Plus they got everyone safely and calmly in and out of the water in daytime and darkness. Less confident swimmers were given a floatation device and everyone had a wetsuit.
The tour leaves earlier than others to ensure a mooring at the viewing site, which allows for a late afternoon and sunset snorkel before the main event. This was super cool also since we were in the deep ocean.
This outfit cares about the Mantas and the ocean health. I found their ecology knowledge impressive and their environmental stewardship was apparent.
Cold water, pineapple, and cookies were provided. You can also bring your own snacks. The water is rough, so eat a big lunch and don't plan on eating until after the boat unless you have an iron constitution (maybe three people got sick on our boat).
If you are even considering it, book with this tour group. The boat is nice, they are very safe and competent, and they care so much about the animals and oceans. Best experience of the whole trip.
