We used Tukan Tours for a private tour of Manuel Antonio National Park. Without a guide, this tour would have been little more than a walk through the park. With our guide, we saw all kinds of plants and animals and learned a lot about Costa Rica. I cannot say enough good things about our guide and would recommend him without reservation! Our guide was Walter; he is from Costa Rica but has lived in the US and Germany and has traveled extensively. His English was great and he also speaks Spanish, Portuguese, German, and some French. Walter was extremely friendly and easy going. He has a degree in Ecotourism and knows an amazing amount about Costa Rica and everything in it! Walter brought a tripod with a spotting scope. There were many times we would walk along the park and then he would set up the tripod and sight in the scope. Even knowing where he was looking, most times I could not see what he was looking at without him pointing it out. We saw squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, three-toes sloths, bats, caymans, red crabs, iguanas, Jesus Christ lizards, anoles, bats, golden orb spiders, racoons, agouti, gladiator frogs, and an entire flock of scarlet macaws--not to mention all kinds of plants. Tukan Tours picked us up right at our condo near Jaco, took care of all the driving and lunch, and dropped us off back at the condo. Lunch was very good, more food than I could eat, and even had vegetarian options to accommodate my wife. The entire tour was from 7 am until 2:30 pm and cost $160 per person. We are very glad we did this tour and would recommend this tour to others. Thank you, Walter! Jake and Tobey

Tukan Tours took us to Bahía Ballena National Park on whale watching. I would like to congratulate them because the service was excellent and we obtained exactly what they had offered. On the boat, the guide was very knowledgeable which I liked since we learned a lot about the animals and all the Park in general. We saw in total three whales along with their calves, many dolphins and different types of birds. Watching whales is amazing, they are spectacular animals and is a unique experience. So I highly recommend this tour with Tukan Tours who are experts in this.

We took the Whale Watching Tour to Bahia Ballena, the coaster picked us up in Jaco on time at 6am. The seats were comfortable for the tree hours trip to Bahia Ballena and the coaster had air conditioning. Once in the park, we were explained that the boat had a GPS system to locate the whales, so they guarantee that if there are whales nearby they can get to that point; but it is up to the whales to decide if they show up or not. They also keep communication with other boats to be informed. That's better than sailing around looking for whales. In our case, it took us less than 15 minutes to see the first whale with her calf. We were also able to watch two different types of dolphins, a group of them passed closed to our boat jumping. Some of us watched a turtle swimming, apparently it is not that common in that area that time of the year, so we were lucky! They showed us some islands, caverns and beached around. Snorkeling was included in the tour, but it had rained a lot the previous day so the group decided not to do it because the water was not clear enough. We had more time to watch whales instead, we saw another whale with her calf. We had lunch at a restaurant next to the Marino Ballena National Park, we got the typical "casados", this was included as part of the tour. I don't remember the name of the restaurant; but the food was great! We were back to Jaco early in the afternoon. Everything was on time. I recommend this tour with Tukan Tours, I have no complains ... I just wish I had a better lens for my camera!
