Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE a hike.

My husband and I loved this tour, Abby was a fantastic tour guide! Was great getting so close to the glacier. They provided great snacks and top quality equipment, all in excellent condition. Binoculars were included which was great. Would have liked to have stopped at the waterfall though but otherwise we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend!

We are so happy you loved it- we do our best to provide guests everything they need to be safe and comfortable on our tour. Nuggets Falls is absolutely beautiful and we love sharing it with guests, but we like to focus our time on getting as close as we safely can to the Mendenhall Glacier. It is very rare that you are on a glacier-fed lake staring at a glacier on a canoe in Alaska!

My boyfriend and my brother did the lake canoe tour and had a great time. They came back raving about their tour guide Ryan and Mendenhall Mochas. The only downside was how sore the were the next day after a good, long canoe trip.

Canoeing and seeing the glacier was amazing! Grant was particularly helpful. We were able to get up really close to the glacier. Grant explained everything throughout the way.
