Known for its art, each wall in Midtown tells a story.

Midtown Sacramento is a most vibrant part of the city! Among other things, tour guests will learn the intriguing history of murals in the city, while experiencing Sacramento’s current art scene. Guests will also try dishes from some of midtown’s finest menus, in an area of the city that has exploded with restaurants in recent years.

Along the way, we’ll pop into venues with farm-to-fork ingredients and farm-to-glass libations, all sure to tantalize your palate while filling your belly. Our culinary concierge will guide the group in and out of eateries while pointing out the sights and sounds of midtown in between.

Local Roots Food Tours limits the group size of each tour to no more than 14 individuals. Special dietary needs can be met with prior notice. Senior, military, and children discounts are available.

Our original tour was rescheduled, but we were called and informed in advance and told more about what we could do in Sacramento that day as well! The tour went smoothly and our tour guide was amazing! She was so knowledgeable and made the tour fun and entertaining! We definitely will be back in Sac to visit some of the places we stopped on our tour. Highly recommend if you have a free weekend and like learning about the food and history!

We had so much fun on this tour! Dawnie is engaging & knowledgeable, and is obviously passionate about food, art, and the farm-to-fork concept in Sacramento. We tasted a variety of foods, saw some wonderful murals (we live nearby and have probably driven by these places hundreds of times, but never noticed the art) and learned a lot! The tour had a nice relaxing pace; Dawnie goes out of her way to make everyone comfortable. If you’re looking for a fun activity with food, art and a little exercise, this is it.

We signed up for a Midtown Sacramento food tour to kick off our first full day in Sacramento, and we could not have had a better introduction and welcome to the city. Our guide, Dawnie, was nothing short of exceptional, as we learned about Sacramento through food, art, and stories. She brought us to several local staples in the Midtown district, including a coffee shop and dessert diner. Everything we tasted was incredible, and we all found ourselves struggling to choose which dish was our favorite. While the food was delicious and enjoyable, the best part of the tour was Dawnie; she exudes positivity and knowledge, making it clear that she loves living in Sacramento as much as she loves sharing it with visitors. When someone takes such pride in their city, it becomes infectious, and as a result, we developed a passion for Sacramento almost instantly. The tour was one of the highlights of our vacation, and we recommend it to anyone visiting Sacramento. Thanks for everything, Dawnie!
