Castle Valley is the poster child for Western landscapes, and you’ve probably already seen it somewhere in a John Wayne movie, TV show, or a commercial or two. And if somehow you have, in fact, never laid eyes on Castle Valley before, you’re not going forget it once you do!

This serene section of the Colorado River moseys through a big beautiful valley lined with monuments. Along the way are some of Utah’s most impressive geologic features like Fisher Towers, Castleton Tower, the Priest and Nuns, and more.

As for the waters here along the Colorado River, it stays pretty warm from late spring to early fall. You’ll spend most of your time floating, with a few Class II rapids to cool you off along the way. Expect plenty of fascinating interpretations and fun stories from your river guide on this mild trip!

Our family of 4 took a whitewater rafting trip on Colorado River with Mild to Wild in August 2024. Booking through Viator was smooth. Mild to Wild had an excellent communication and provided all the info before the trip via email and text messages. Once we arrived everything was perfectly and timely organized. Our raft guide was Shawn did an excellent job making the trip fun. He also provided a lot of info and interesting facts about the area, canyons, and Colorado River. We loved the trip and we highly recommend it and Mild to Wild company. Thanks Shawn and Mild to Wild!

Well organized. Easy to find and park. Safety briefing was clear and simple guides were smart, caring, and funny. Gavin, our boat guide was a font of knowledge and interesting information and stories. Special shout out to Dave the driver, friendly, funny, and a great driver. Dave clued us in to one the best hikes we’ve ever taken, Grandstaff Trail. Thanks for a top notch experience all around. PS, Gavin’s Mom: we’re Lisa and Jon from Prescott. You’re son rocks!
