Enjoy the luxury of exploring areas that are off-limits to normal travelers; and listen and watch your guide bring the monuments to life through its history, story telling, and live performances. Enjoy a visit to a local Navajo Hogan and watch a demonstration of the art of Navajo Rug Weaving. Behind the breathtaking Mesas, Buttes, Spires, and Arches there are hidden stories waiting to be told.

Our guide was Sandrea. She was very friendly and informative. She wanted to give us plenty of time to take photos, ask questions and enjoy the experience. I don’t think we would have learned a quarter of what we did on the tour without Sandrea. I highly recommend the Extended Backcountry Tour, because you also get to experience areas that the Navijo people inhabit and share their history and culture.

Do NOT miss this tour! Seeing Monument Valley from the other side is a spectacular view! We’ve said many times how glad we are that Larry was our tour guide—his discussion of the land and the Navajo’s place in it was wonderful. He was a perfect accompaniment to the landscape. Tribal Tours truck was very clean and comfortable, and the tour guides were on time and very friendly. You should most definitely take a tour with them!
