Enjoy a visit to a local Navajo Hogan and watch a demonstration of the art of Navajo Rug Weaving. Behind the breathtaking Mesas, Buttes, Spires, and Arches there are hidden stories waiting to be told.

We had a very good guide, Larry, who is Native American and really knew the valley. He had good stories and really helped us appreciate the history of the Valley. Highly recommend this trip.

The Monument Valley Backcountry Tribal Tour was fantastic. Cheryl, our guide was incredible. She showed us things that we would have never picked up on our own, We went to a Hogan and got an excellent demonstration on Navajo weaving form a young Navajo women. We saw rock formations that we would have never seen on our own. Cheryl took her time to help us understand the Navajo culture and how it related to Monument Valley, My wife said it was the highlight of our 2 week trip to the Southwest.

The tour was a phenomenal experience, and Larry was outstanding as a guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history, the geology and the culture of Navaho life in Monument Valley. It was cold the morning of our tour -- low 30s and windy -- and Larry switched from an open vehicle to a warm van. He proceeded to take us through the valley, with several stops to view special sites and to take photos. He often volunteered to take special photos of groups. He displayed and explained his deep faith in the spiritual world of the Navaho, and it was deeply touching. I would. recommend this tour to anyone who appreciates the beauty of the desert but especially to those who want to learn about the Navaho life and history in this special place.
