Fort Hays Old West Town and Dinner Show

The tour package starts at Fort Hays Chuckwagon where you get your all you can eat cowboy breakfast. Nothing better than home made cowboy pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage links with a hot cup of coffee to get the day started.

Mount Rushmore National Memorial

The bus departs at 9am and heads for Mount Rushmore! You will have a little over an hour to look around at your own convenience and enjoy the sites and beauty that you came to South Dakota for. We stop here first because Mount Rushmore is at it's best in the morning sun. Gutzon Borglum carved this mountain facing east towards the morning sun and intended it to be viewed this way.

Iron Mountain Road

After leaving Mount Rushmore we will travel along the Iron Mountain Road. A beautiful 17 mile road of breath taking scenery featuring 3 one lane tunnels that perfectly frame Mount Rushmore.

Custer State Park Resort

We stop for lunch inside Custer State Park at the Game Lodge and previous summer White House for president Calvin Coolidge. Try the Buffalo Stew, it's the best you will ever find!

Needles Highway

After lunch we depart for the Needles Hwy. This 14 mile scenic drive is sure to leave you breathless and awe struck at amazing beauty of the Black Hills. Sit back and enjoy the ride and watch the crowd gather around when we drive the bus through the Needles Eye Tunnel. With only inches to spare on each side of the bus you can relish in the fact that you are not the one driving.

Sylvan Lake

Take a rest stop and coffee break at the beautiful Sylvan Lake. This is among the crown jewels of Custer State Park and the beauty within it.

Crazy Horse Memorial

We spend about an hour at Crazy Horse Memorial. You are on your own to spend this time enjoying this piece of history in the making. Upon completion it will be the largest mountain carving in the world! Truly a piece of awe inspiring history being worked on every day.

Fort Hays Old West Town and Dinner Show

The tour package ends back at Fort Hays to include the Chuckwagon Supper and Live Music Show. This chuckwagon meal is sure to leave you with a full belly. The show is a Branson style variety show to include music for all ages to enjoy. Rate the best family entertainment in the Black Hills.

Fort Hays Old West Town et dîner-spectacle

Le voyage organisé commence à Fort Hays Chuckwagon où vous obtenez votre petit-déjeuner de cow-boy à volonté. Rien de mieux que des pancakes de cow-boy faits maison, des biscuits et de la sauce, des liens de saucisse avec une tasse de café chaud pour bien commencer la journée.

Mémorial national du mont Rushmore

Le bus part à 9h et se dirige vers le Mont Rushmore ! Vous aurez un peu plus d'une heure pour regarder autour de vous à votre convenance et profiter des sites et de la beauté pour lesquels vous êtes venu dans le Dakota du Sud. Nous nous arrêtons d'abord ici car le mont Rushmore est à son meilleur au soleil du matin. Gutzon Borglum a sculpté cette montagne face à l'est vers le soleil du matin et l'a destinée à être vue de cette façon.

Route de la montagne de fer

Après avoir quitté le mont Rushmore, nous emprunterons l'Iron Mountain Road. Une belle route de 17 miles de paysages à couper le souffle avec 3 tunnels à une voie qui encadrent parfaitement le mont Rushmore.

Parc d'État de Custer Resort

Nous nous arrêtons pour déjeuner à l'intérieur du Custer State Park au Game Lodge et à la Maison Blanche de l'été précédent pour le président Calvin Coolidge. Essayez le Buffalo Stew, c'est le meilleur que vous trouverez jamais !

Autoroute des Aiguilles

Après le déjeuner, nous partons pour la Needles Hwy. Cette route panoramique de 14 miles vous coupera le souffle et vous émerveillera devant la beauté incroyable des Black Hills. Asseyez-vous et profitez du trajet et regardez la foule se rassembler lorsque nous conduisons le bus à travers le tunnel Needles Eye. Avec seulement quelques centimètres à perdre de chaque côté du bus, vous pouvez apprécier le fait que vous n'êtes pas celui qui conduit.

Lac Sylvain

Faites une halte et une pause-café au magnifique lac Sylvan. C'est l'un des joyaux de la couronne du parc d'État de Custer et de la beauté qu'il contient.

Mémorial du cheval fou

Nous passons environ une heure au Crazy Horse Memorial. Vous êtes seul pour passer ce temps à profiter de ce morceau d'histoire en devenir. Une fois terminé, ce sera la plus grande sculpture de montagne au monde ! Vraiment un morceau d'histoire inspirante sur laquelle on travaille tous les jours.

Fort Hays Old West Town et dîner-spectacle

Le voyage organisé se termine à Fort Hays pour inclure le souper Chuckwagon et le spectacle de musique en direct. Ce repas de chariot est sûr de vous laisser le ventre plein. Le spectacle est un spectacle de variétés de style Branson qui comprend de la musique pour tous les âges. Évaluez le meilleur divertissement familial des Black Hills.

I have a mixed review for this one. It would be five stars if we were allowed more time at the sites. Only one hour at mt Rushmore and less than that at Crazy Horse. Not even close to enough time. The elevators were blocked off at mt Rushmore so not good for those mobility impaired. No time to visit Ft Hayes either. This definitely should be broken up over two days.

We are sorry to hear that you felt rushed and didn't experience the tour the way that we intend for you to. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about the construction at Mt Rushmore but once it's finished it will be great! We do strive to give you as much time as possible and we jam alot into one day so we can show you as much of the the beautiful southern Black Hills area as we can. There's so much to see! Also, we do have you check in early so you can look around the Dances with Wolves filmset and Fort Hays Old West Town so I'm not sure what happened there but we do apologize that your day wasn't 5 star as we'd expect for it to be! Please reach out to us if there is anything we can do.

Wonderful tour. Informative and fun. Comfortable bus. Cowboy breakfast was delicious. Really enjoyed our tour guide, Jerry!

I’ll start with Rory, our guide. He was fantastic; so full of knowledge about all things Black Hills. He was funny, friendly, and not to mention the most amazing driver EVER! How on earth does he get that bus through those tunnels????? The tour was fantastic! Rory drove us to Mt Rushmore, through Custer State Park, Hill City, and Crazy Horse. We stopped for lunch at the sportsman’s lodge in Custer and there was Governor Kristi Noem having lunch with family and friends. We actually had a wonderful chat, which was such an amazing highlight for me!! Rory then took us to the wildlife loop in search of a bison herd. We did find and feed the burrows, which was great! We found a few loner bison, but never the herd. Maybe next time. We ended back at Ft Hayes (which was also where we started with free breakfast!!). We got dinner (also part of the package!) and then a wonderful show with country, bluegrass, patriotic and other genres of music. This entire day was about 12 hours from start to finish...one of the best values of anything we’ve ever done! It left us with a head full of knowledge, a tummy full of great food, memories to last a lifetime, and huge smiles on our faces. I can’t wait to do it again!!!!
