If you are a music fan this is a must see! Knowing that you are standing right where many of you music idols worked on hit songs you know and love is an overwhelming feeling. The folks there couldn’t have been nicer or more knowledgeable. It’s just a shame a pamphlet or book isn’t available to prevent the information overload you’ll experience.

Full Disclosure - I've been a musician my entire life, but it is not my career. Having played in several cover bands, much of the music that came out of this studio back in the day is firmly ingrained in my memories of AM radio. This is an obscure little building that will mean little to non musicians …for the more enlightened crowd, it will be a Mecca of sorts. The Swampers are local boys who provided the rhythm section for some very famous songs, or 4 local boys made good by their talent, you pick. The list of seminal recordings is long (Old Time Rock & Roll - Bob Seeger, Wild Horses and Brown Sugar - Rolling Stones, and Tighten Up - Black Keys). Some of the original equipment on those recordings is still there. The docent is a well informed local that is good friends with the remaining staff. If you are a musician, the stories are fascinating. All others will likely be bored . Recommended

The tour is once an hour. The guide was really interesting and had some amusing stories to tell about the various musicians who recorded there, beginning with Cher, the first one to use the facility. It is a little tiny place, very old looking, and kind of dark. It was well a little expensive for the experience, $13 each, but worth the visit. There are a few souvenirs you can purchase, mostly T Shirts.
