Fabulous - It's hard to overstate the impact this little, unassuming building has on a rock-n-roll fan. Being in the same room where so many musical greats from the 60s and 70s recorded was a moving experience. The guided tour's introduction begins in a lounge area below the recording studio and you can absolutely imagine Rock's Royalty hanging out there on the overstuffed furniture, with the cheesy 1970s faux wood paneling on the walls, the low ceiling - add some shag carpeting and the place would be totally authentic! The recording studio itself was very impressive - mostly for its modesty. Imagining Keith and Mick doing their magic here - after staying overnight in the nearby Holiday Inn - is other-worldly. Our tour guide (definitely not a child of the 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s) provided a good overview of the attraction and some of its history. The depth of the guide's knowledge did not appear significant and there was no evidence of real passion for or connection to the music. Oddly, the main attraction (the music) did not appear to be much of a priority on the tour. The guide carried around a portable bluetooth speaker and when he pressed a button on his tablet computer, a song would begin playing through the 7" speaker. It seems that it wouldn't be too hard to do to really fill the room with music and knock the socks off of visitors. It is a rock music studio after all and visitors are there to commune with the greats and the art they made. There are very nice outdoor (and air conditioned) restrooms, a good picnic area and a solid gift store. Overall a great place and definitely worth the stop - with plenty of room for improvement by the foundation that owns/operates it.

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone and everyone who is even remotely interested in the history of soul and rock 'n' roll music, and the role Muscle Shoals played in it. We had a great guide

An amazing tour but especially the telling of a great period of music history! The great performers who worked there is amazing. Well worth the stop.
