It's a decent museum. I would probably skip the introductory movie Revolution shown on the entry level in the Lenfest Myer Theatre. Doesn't add anything. Upstairs is the main exhibition with a wandering flow--really wandering. Never had to give or receive so many apologies to view exhibits because there is no common sense way to move about. That being said, it's a new building. Nice restrooms, nice displays. The Tent of George Washington can be seen from behind a protective screen in one of the theatres. The Cross Keys Café advertises dishes inspired by colonial times, but it's just the same old museum café fare. We did not visit the lower level Revolution Place, especially designed for children ages 5-12.

My husband and I really enjoyed this museum. It's relatively new, and they have done a great job of making the experience more than just reading descriptions. There is an interactive "I was Washington" simulation, several interesting short films, and the exhibit on Washington's real battle tent was actually very moving.

Very cool interactive museum. Highlight is the end. After an informative film, the gauzy screen lifts and there's Washington's field tent. Was very surprised what an emotional cord it struck. How devoted he was to his men, wanting to share all hardships with them. Could use a leader like that now.
