National Corvette Museum
The National Corvette Museum is a showcase to America's sports car.  Start your tour with a short film about the history of the Corvette and the Corvette Museum.  As you walk though the museum you'll see exhibits featuring over 70 Corvettes in periodic settings including a mid-century barbershop, service station and dealership.  You'll see Corvette prototypes, one-of-kind cars, and racing champs.  Enjoy hands-on activities in KidZone , trivia kiosks, and the "Corvette Cave In” exhibit.  This exhibit takes visitors back to the early morning hours of February 12, 2014 when the earth opened up inside the Museum’s Skydome, swallowing the classic Corvettes.  The Museum's Skydome offers a glimpse of the size and depth of the sinkhole as well as the retrieved Corvettes. Guests are also invited to try a Corvette on for size in the lobby. The Corvette Store offers apparel, collectibles, home and gift items.  An on-site 50's-inspired Corvette Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and snacks.

If you are into Corvettes, this is the place for you. If you're not, the rows of endless 'Vettes will get old after a while. I fall into the latter bucket, although this was an enjoyable visit--just got to be too much after seeing rows of cars, and reading about the smallest design change from year-to-year. The best part was the entryway to the museum, where they park brand-new Corvettes for delivery. As the new owners drive off, everybody applauds. That's really cool. Also interesting is the display around the sinkhole that swallowed a few vintage cars, although it's slightly macabre to see the destroyed cars re-displayed where they were when the ground opened underneath them. I think there normally are some hands-on simulators, however they are closed due to Covid.

A must see if you are a car person and in the area. Also a very nice way to pick up your car if you are buying a new Corvette. The gift shop and lobby are fun in themselves. For a change items in the gift shop are reasonably priced. Something for everyone. Right off freeway and easy to find. Time is relative. We did it in less than an hour because thats all we had. I could have easily spent 3 hours

The museum has free parking. There is a display area (with several new Corvette models) inside the building but outside of the museum. There is also a gift shop, a library/archives, and dining in that main hall as well as the admission area. After paying the admission fee, you can enter the museum area. It is a thorough history of the Corvette automobile from planning and development, through manufacture and use, including racing. There are several older models on exhibit, other artifacts, and films. There is a special section about the sinkhole that swallowed about a dozen of the vehicles on exhibit. This museum is a must see if you are a car enthusiast. COVID-19: Employees were masked and visitors were to remain masked throughout their visit and maintain social distancing protocols.
