New Archangel Dancers Russian and Ukrainian Folk Dance Show

We are an all-women, non-profit volunteer group that live and work in Sitka. Since 1969 the New Archangel Dancers have promoted Alaska as a visitor destination by sharing their knowledge of Sitka's Russian History and their pride in Alaska.

The Dancers' success and notoriety have been enhanced by regular guest performances at the opening of new Alaska Airlines terminals, at Alaska Governors' inaugural celebrations, and at various dance festivals, tourism trade shows, conferences, and public events. In addition to performing throughout the "lower 48," the dancers have performed to enthusiastic audiences in Hawaii, Japan, Russia, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Harrigan Centennial Hall

Enjoy a traditional Russian, Ukrainian & Moldavian Folk Dance Show. These were prominent in Sitka during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The Dancers support the performing arts in the community of Sitka and promote and encourage tourism.

Wonderful narrator describing the dances and the history of the group. Well worth the price of admission.

The show was absolutely wonderful. Very close up and personable. Beautiful, authentic costumes. Lots of history and information. Unfortunately, I am not pleased with Viator. I originally reserved 8 tickets but I tried numerous times to reduce the number to 6. The 6 ticket request did not go through and I was charged on my CC for 8. ;( It really wasn't the money that upset me, it was the principle. Everything in this show is through volunteers and I gave an additional donation anyway.

This was a wonderful show. Beautiful authentic costumes. Lovely ladies celebrating the culture and customs of Russian natives in Alaska. They have a fifty year legacy. Easy to find. At the visitors center in Sitka where the cruise ships drop you off. A small museum is on the same building.
