This neighborhood and its cemetery tells the story of New Orleans from the Louisiana Purchase to the Civil War. Stunning antebellum mansions, lush gardens, unforgettable stories, and beautiful photo opportunities await! We keep our group size under 12 guests to make in a fun, personal experience.

Great tour. James was a great guide! Learned so much about how cemeteries work in New Orleans and got interesting tidbits about the lovely homes in the District. Two hours flew by!

We really enjoyed seeing the beautiful homes in the Garden District and learning about its history and architecture. Seeing the cemetery up close while learning its history was very interesting. James was an excellent guide, with good knowledge and a great sense of humor. We also appreciated that it was a small group.

The tour guide, Libby, was phenomenal. Her voice carried; she had a ton of info to present and answering questions plus she was funny. (Weird: despite being 10th generation New Orleanean, she sounds like she's from the NE. "Its a port dialect" she says the linguists call it. ) After seeing what a 28-person (state max) vs. OUR tour of 2 separate groups of 14, the smaller group was infinitely better. Our tour operators try to max each walking group at 12 -- even better.

Thank you! I am good and loud with a slight New Orleans port-city accent. I am so happy that you had fun on my tour. I love telling the stories in the Garden District, because there’s always a lovely backdrop. The beauty and formality of the architecture sometimes makes it feel like the stories won’t be as interesting, and that is my challenge! I know enough interesting stories to add spice to the beauty of the old neighborhood, and I love showing how the architecture reflects the history and the culture of the area. I hope your entire New Orleans experience was fun, and I hope you come walk with me and listen to my accent next time you are in town! Libby
