My booking for your Helicopter Tour resulted in a bitter feeling. Your team took away every joy we were prepared for on this "Birthday Flight".
As we arrived to Pier 6, a person at the reception instructed us without welcome or hello. - "follow me!" then -"Stay at there at the wall!" -"Somebody will get you!". For what? To execute us? - we were joking first. We were speechless. We were asking ourselves, are we at the right place? No manners at all at the check in as well. Rude instructions: - "follow me!", without "please", - "Follow me, did you hear me? - he shouted - "Now! I have to go!" - screamed the guy, whom we did not even know if he works for your company or not. No introduction. On the way out to the helicopter: "No pictures!" - he screamed again, then at the arrival to the helicopter: - "You!", - while finger pointing to us, - "Step here!". "I take a picture of you!" - what was this? we asked. Security reason? No answer. We boarded the flight, he put me in to the back middle seat. I asked him to change my seat, there was no room for my legs because of the rotor column. I don't want to spell here his answer. I wanted to skip the flight, but this was the birthday gift to my son. I kept quiet. I smiled at him. This is not his fault only. There must be a lack of training and of course missing personal skills to make someone respected, not talk about: (for his money) -happy!
Our experience on the return to the helicopter port was not different either. Your people are screamed on us (and the other couple as well) like we were dogs. Upon arrival we certainly did not wanted to buy the pictures your employee took at the departure. Now we understood. Why he may do that? He said - "No pictures!". A sales pitch? A bad one.
We left with mixed memories of the NYC panorama from above. I did not complain to the manager. It was a birthday. I did not wanted to destroy the magic with a complaint what your company caused to our celebration.
What a fantastic experience to see New York this way. The Viator ground staff were very kind and
helpful ,and so was the pilot. Would definitely do it again - great value for money. Will definitely recommend this tour to my friends visiting N/York.
The queuing process was laborious (over a hour), and I felt we were squeezed in (there were 6 paying guests in what felt like 3 spaces), so I was sat in a middle seat of 4 people with no easy access to a clear view, and I was so squashed I could barely get my camera up to take photos. I think for over £120 per person, you should ALL get a window seat. Really disappointing, especially having read such good reviews.
