Transportation from the hotel and back is major plus for me. We didn’t wanna drive an icy road. Bill our tour guide was awesome! He’s a very safe driver and friendly, too! On our way to the hot spring, he shared some fun facts about the Northern Lights, Alaska, and of course other fun activities we can do in Fairbanks. When we got to Chena Hot Springs, we were able to delight ourselves and be awed by gorgeous ice sculptures. We were also able dip ourselves in the healing waters of the hot spring. They have a restaurant, of course we tried it, and it had really delicious food. I especially liked the clam chowder and the halibut that I got. We were told that there’s an activity level of 2 and that the sky was looking clear, so our chances to see the Northern Lights was pretty good and we did. Since it wasn’t so bright at the hot spring, on our way back, Bill was constantly on the lookout for the dancing Aurora Borealis, so we got to bask ourselves a bit more under this wonderful phenomenon. Thanks, Bill!
