We went on this tour to see the lights and did see some faint ones so are looking forward to our other nights here in Fairbanks to see more. Our guide Dave was very good and lots of fun. The Ice Museum at Chena Hot Springs was beautiful and the apple martinis were great. The resort itself is only so - so glad we did not stay there - it is a two hour drive each way from Fairbanks and more like a summer camp than a spa - nothing there but the resort. The food in the restaurant was only ok. The Hot Springs is a wonderful place to float around and relax but if you have children up to 18 they can't go in so they can only go in the inside pool which is nothing special. I'm glad we saw the ice museum and 1st Alaska did a great tour for us but wouldn't go to the resort again.

We had a great time and our guide Bill was great company and very knowledgeable about Alaska. The ice museum and hot springs were great. Despite the fact that we had a small blizzard Bill took the time and care to go Aurora chasing on the way back. We got lucky and got clear skies on a good spot to see the lights dancing around. Overall a great and complete experience!

Hello from North Pole, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a great review. We are very glad that you had a great time, which is our number one priority. The best thing is that you got to see Lady Aurora. We send you lots of greetings from Alaska.

Nothing much to shout about the hot springs in Chena as compared to the Blue Lagoon in Iceland or I couldn't have seen much as I only arrived after sunset at approximately 1815hrs, total darkness. Mediocre changing facilities but it was relatively affordable, only cost a quarter per use and a new quarter got to be inserted after each opening. However, the facilities provided for the watching of aurora was excellent with 2 indoor waiting areas, an activity room and an aurora watching room besides the outdoor, and was an excellent night when I visited on November 17th, managed to see it twice in one night, simply awesome. The tour price paid was inclusive of admission to the Ice Museum and the hot springs, excluding the Appletini served in ice glass at the Aurora Bar in the former. The Appletini would have cost USD 15. The restaurant served good food with efficient service. Unfortunately, didn't manage to visit the Dog Kennel as it was closed at 1600hrs.

Dear Canny, We are sorry that you didn't have a great experience with us. To clarify a few things, the dog kennel is not included in our itinerary and yes, during a few months in the winter, it will be dark after arrival. We don't have much daylight in November, December and January and due to it being a Northern Lights tour, we have to start later in the day. We are still glad that you had an overall good visit and we send you greetings from North Pole. Your AWG team.
