Took this tour with my wife, and it was great. We saw the aurora and got to try the hot springs and see the ice museum, and that was nice. But honestly the best part for me was meeting the guide and the other people in our group, who were all fun and had many interesting stories to tell. We even got to meet the owner of the company, Rainier, who was leading another group doing the same tour. Everyone was super nice, and it was like spending the night out with a group a friends.
One note: the instructions in the email said to bring towels for the hot springs, but in fact the facility had full towel service. So you don't need to bring your own towels. This could be updated on the website/email.
I was concerned that we would be exhausted by the time the tour ended at 3am, but the entire bus slept on the way back, so it was fine. This alone makes the tour worth the money, as driving for hours at night on icy roads with moose potentially on every corner is not something I'd like to have to worry about on vacation.
