NOW OPEN: Hudson Yards the High Line and the New Vessel

Aperçu
The High Line is a 1.45-mile-long elevated park, greenway built on a historic, elevated freight line. The High Line is a public park programmed, maintained, and operated by Friends of the High Line, in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. View art, walk through gardens, experience a performance, enjoy delicious food.

The southern end of the park is shaded by gray birch and serviceberry trees. Washington Grasslands & Woodland Edge section is full of grasses, perennials, and woody species that tolerate the shade of the surrounding buildings.

The Vessel “New York’s Staircase,” 154 interconnecting flights of stairs, 2,500 individual steps and 80 landings. Built bronzed steel located in the center of Hudson Yards. This honey comb shaped 150' tall art piece can accommodate up to 1000 people at a time. The tour end near the Vessel.

Beautiful building/walkway. Just stared from below. Too tired and hot to make the walk up. Will return to explore in the future. Great addition to the area.

Definitely a must see down by the river. Beautiful architecture of the main building and the Vessel definitely a wow factor for both.

I didn’t know this place existed until I stumbled upon it today, and I’m so glad I found it! The shops at Hudson Yards are great, and it is such a pretty building to walk around. The Vessel is a great new addition to this area and is quite a unique landmark that is worth checking out. If you’re looking for new sites in NYC to visit, come here!!
