I found this tour on Trip Advisor and saw the great reviews so I knew we had to try it. Let me start by saying Dante is super friendly, funny, energetic and just fun to hang with. The food stops were so good! I highly recommend this tour. Hope to come back and try the Greenwich Village tour one day.

My daughter and I did a food tour with Dante in Lower East Side. It was great fun and one of the highlights of our stay in New York. Not only do you get to try some fabulous food, you learn about the history and culture of an area. Dante’s slogan – Walk, Talk, Eat, Repeat – was spot on. During our afternoon we walked around LES stopping at several eating places. In between trying different foods Dante filled us in on stories about the area. He seemed to know everyone and it was a huge bonus that we didn’t have to negotiate the enormous queues at some of the places. The food was delicious but we particularly loved Vanessa’s dumplings and Katz’s pastrami. We even made a trip back to LES the following evening to eat at Vanessa’s again. Our group was small (8 people) which meant that Dante had time to chat with all of us during the afternoon. I’d highly recommend doing a tour with Dante. He’s passionate about food, is easy to talk to and funny. He’s also generous; he helped us with the subway and gave us some great tips about where to eat in other places in the city. Why, he’d even give you the shirt from his own back (Dante will understand that comment). There’s so much to see in NYC, but doing a food tour with Dante is a great way to experience the city.

I can’t say enough great things about this tour. Dante makes it- you can tell he really enjoys interacting with his tour guests and very knowledgable about the history and culture of the area. The food amazing and plentiful - our favorites were the dumplings and the pastrami! Lots of fun! Definitely a must!
