Did the 7am your with my teenage son and had a blast. Saw five big Galapagos Sharks up close. Visibility was great, the sharks were beautiful and the crew were wonderful.
You’re off the coast of an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, so there’s always going to be a decent swell. We took seasickness tablets beforehand and had no problems. You get a great view of the island from the boat and the ride out is not too far. We saw some dolphins breaching on the way out, which was a nice bonus.
If you’re nervous about the sharks and you feel you need the cage, you should realise that if you cling to it tightly it will get bumpy at times given the swell. I was only really using the cage to help me pivot to see the sharks and stay submerged and had no problems.
If read some other gripes about lighting and photography - if you’re going to photograph or film sharks you might not find it ideal. When we swam, the ocean was clear and visibility was excellent, but you’re in a cage 3 miles off the coast, so it’s going to be variable.
If your aim is to see sharks and swim with them I’d highly recommend.
