Just seeing the windsurfers flying through the ocean is a treat even from the moving Ford Transit High Top Roofed Tour Bus.

I paid $700.00 and it was not worth it at all. I took a plane from Oahu early in the morning, the plane ride went fine, it is only about 20 minutes away. When I got there, someone came to pick me up at the airport, and after that, the problems started. The guy dropped me in a Safeway, he tried to explain what was happening but his English was quite limited (I am not a native speaker of English either, so I have empathy, however, he left me there without a clear explanation and I realized how far I was from the hotel, and I panicked a little bit). He kept insisting on me getting a coffee, and going to the bathroom, but when I asked about breakfast he could not explain it, he didn’t know. I was amazed by this. Finally, my tour guy came and he explained it better. I thought everything was going to be ok, but no. The next problem was breakfast. I knew what I ordered and he gave me the wrong breakfast item, and he did not even stop to listen to me. I was upset about this. Then he realized his mistake, came back with the correct sandwich and he apologized. We started the tour, and the driver/tour guide was very nice and entertaining. I really enjoyed his stories and the history part. The trip was just ok, the road (for using a name) is very narrow and in not very good conditions in some parts. We saw a lot of nature, everything was beautiful, but it was the same as Oahu, that is the main reason to say that it was not worth it. All the islands are pretty similar. We stopped for lunch at a volcanic beach, it was nice. Lunch was mediocre, but I understand. The other reason to give two stars is the help I got from some lady in some office (she was not an English speaker either). The nice thing this lady did was to provide a ride to the airport from and to the hotel. This was very, very nice to do. The problem was the boarding pass for the plane. She sent the one from the morning plane the day before, but I already had to remind her that there were three of us, and she only sent one. It took three text messages and several attempts from her part to get the three of them. The ones for the afternoon were sent when I was in Maui, and the same thing happened, she only sent one of them. I kept sending her text messages stating the names of the people that didn’t have the boarding pass, and she kept sending the same over, and over again. I finally called her, and she laughed at me, which I found pretty rude. After that phone call, she sent one more, but there was one more missing. I kept insisting, and she kept sending the two the same over and over. I called her again, and I told her that I thought her mistake was to think that there was only one Maria, and she did not take the time to see that there was a Maria Elena, and a Maria Francisca. She kept sending Maria Elena, over and over and over again without even reading the text messages I was sending her. I was upset in the last call, I have to admit. so I was not very nice, but she hung up the phone on me instead of listening. Finally, she sent the one for Maria Francisca, and this is what I noticed, Maria Francisca had group B (we were flying Southwest) and we had group A. So definitely, she never did Maria Francisca from the beginning. I am amazed that she could not look further from Maria to see her mistake. I sent her a text message telling how rude she was. She never apologized or recognized her mistake. This is really why I am giving two starts. I will never use this company again.

I would like to thank our driver for bringing everyone back safely back from road to Hana. There are 640 turns, 59 single lane bridges and the longest scenic route in the world. Maui has population of 152,000 where as, Oahu has about 1,000,000 people. On top of that Oahu is smaller than Maui. Just this figure alone shows Maui is much more undeveloped. Different culture and lack of understanding English can lead to misunderstandings and wrong conclusions. "Maui No Ka Oi !"

The tour guide was very nice. Our actual tour was around 6 hours. There were about 3stops with 2 other bathroom stops. The stops were around 10-20min. If you don’t like hiking and prefer most of your time spent on the bus, this is for you. If you get motion sickness or car sick easily, this may not be for you. Dramamine helped but I still felt sick. Overall decent safe tour.
