Impressive Victorian mansions and quirky residents have earned national attention for Old Louisville, where bourbon barons, racetrack royalty, and titans of tobacco settled in the 1800s. This narrated walk comes from books by David Dominé, who often guides groups himself. Tales involve personal experiences and neighborhood gossip. The New York Times recommends this as the first thing to do during a visitor's "36 Hours in Louisville." You'll also learn about A DARK ROOM IN GLITTER BALL CITY, David's next book—out in October 2021!

Specializing in "America's Most Haunted Neighborhood," we depart from the corner of Fourth and Ormsby, at the transitional edge of the neighborhood. If you love old architecture and spooky history, this is the tour for you! If you do not like an up-and-coming neighborhood with a diverse racial make up, this tour is not for you! If you can't go 100 minutes without a bathroom, this is not for you!

After reading your note about the neighborhood I ate the no refund and didn’t go. I wish that information was available BEFORE the ticket purchase. A bit underhanded if you ask me.

All of the information in our email confirmations and reminders is available on the site where you purchased your non-refundable ticket. I suspect the "note about the neighborhood" that scared you away had less to do with crime and more to do with your racism. Old Louisville is an eclectic and "diverse" neighborhood, and it was this diversity that seemed to trigger you when I spoke to you on the phone. Because of reactions we've had in the past from inexperienced travelers such as yourself, we simply take the extra step of reminding our visitors to exercise the caution that they would when traveling anywhere else when traveling to our neighborhood. We also point out that they might experience societal issues visible in most decent-sized American cities nowadays. Homelessness and panhandlers do not equate crime, however. In 20 years of conducting tours here, we have had one instance of a tour-goer reporting a vehicle break-in, so I suspect your "brand new pick-up truck" would have been just fine for two hours on the mean streets of Old Louisville.

The buildings we looked at were pretty. Story teller was fine. It just wasn't worth the price. I'd say it was a walking tour worth 5 to 15$ max
