This tour departs from Orcas Island. The island can only be reached by the Washington State Ferry System. If your party is not already on island we recommend our Anacortes departure location.
Check in begins 30 minutes prior to departure.

Awesome is how I describe the experience with Outer Island Expedition. I went on the sunset Whale Watching expedition and could not have been happier with the experience, so much so, I rented a kayak a few days later and had again the most awesome time. Have to say, everything from my initial call to ask questions about which tour to reserve to check in at the Smugglers Cove office was seamless. Both excursions, the whale watching and the kayaking were amazing. Michelle our guide for the whale watching was terrific, very knowledgeable, we saw so many Orcas and the best is you did not feel you were part of a “tour” meaning there was a relaxed atmosphere and the crew really went that extra mile to seek out the orcas and other sea life. The kayaking experience was also amazing, I rented a kayak for a few hours, having never been on a kayak, the crew was so patient and helpful to make sure that I was comfortable and safe as I took off the adventure. Outer Island Expedition you made my trip to Orcas Island quite memorable, thank you!

We went on a whale-watching trip from Orcas Island. The trip itself was fantastic - Dana and Paul did a great job of getting us to where the whales had been sighted quickly so that we could watch them for as long as possible. They were conscientious about keeping the boat a good distance from the whales to not disturb them, yet keeping us in good position to see them surface and resurface. Dana was great about keeping us informed and answering our questions as we all watched these magnificent creatures. Also, the booking and pre-trip check in was well-done and professional, as were the safety briefings - would recommend this group.

My wife and I spent an afternoon with Outer Island Expeditions watching Orcas (we saw plenty) and taking in the spectacular islands and scenery. The crew was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The boat was comfortable. We saw our quota of whales, and also Bald Eagles and numerous seals. Highly recommend this company and their excursions.
