Check in time is around 6 am, the start of the trip is at 6.30 am. You may be surprised why so early, but once you get on the bus and start driving, you realize that it is a journey to endless wilderness. End of the trip is around 11 pm, but I was enjoying all the time, soI didn't find it so demanding. It is great that all the time driver was explaining the history of the pipeline and the importance of this special and very risky project! It is great to learn about permafrost and unique problems that builders of pipeline had in this mission. So, it is much more about this tour, not just beautiful tundra and vast space with so little life! Organization of the tour was perfect, the guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and also very funny! I think his name is Paul. It is not easy to reach the Arctic Circle, but I believe it is easier in Alaska than anywhere else, so don't miss this chance!

It was a long day but well worth the trip on a very comfortable bus that had a charge at each seat for hook up. Our driver/guide, Barb, was outstanding, not only as a driver on some fairly narrow, muddy roads but a wealth of information about the Dalton Hwy, the pipeline, and the Arctic Circle. Stopped both morning and evening at the Yukon River Camp for delicious food plus plenty of stops for restroom breaks and to stretch our legs. To top off a wonderful day we got to see a glorious spectacle of the Auroral Borealis. I would definitely recommend this tour to the Arctic Circle.

Our Arctic Circle tour with Barb was nothing short of amazing! Barb is an absolute gem—her knowledge of the area, the tundra, and the oil pipeline was impressive, and she shared it all with such enthusiasm and passion. We learned so much while having an incredible time exploring this unique part of the world. Barb’s friendly, warm personality really made the experience special. She had such a great spirit and made everyone feel welcome and engaged throughout the tour. We also got some stunning photos to remember the day and even caught the northern lights on the way back! If you're looking to explore the Arctic Circle, Barb is the guide you want. She turned this adventure into something truly unforgettable! Highly recommend!
