It's a loooooooong day. Left at 6:30 am and got back at....11 pm? The other thing to be aware of is you will pretty much lose cellular service not too far north of Fairbanks and will not get it back until you are getting close to Fairbanks. I really didn't realize just how remote parts of Alaska are. With all of that out of the way, the experience was really well done. You learn a lot along the way, there are ample bathroom stops, and you get a hot dinner. The fall color in unlike anything I have ever seen before! We do NOT get that in Texas. As the title implied, Paul was our guide for the day. I really enjoyed his stories and he always had snacks for everyone at each stop. I have to say it is pretty damn cool to say I've been to the Arctic Circle!

This was a cool experience. Our guide Jeremy made it a fun trip with a lot of insights about Interior Alaska and it’s history. Driving up to the Arctic circle and seeing the varying landscape,Tundra, Yukon River and the Alaskan Pipeline up close made it a memorable trip. It was a long day (almost 16hrs) but they kept us engaged with a few stops at cool locations to explore and played a few documentaries during the drive. We could get lunch and dinner and Souvenirs at the Yukon River camp (a vegetarian option was available). Dress warmly if you go on this trip after September.

Where do I start? I knew it was going to be fun when “Michigan “ started making fun of “Ohio” (us) at 6 o’clock in the morning!! Our guide,Mel, was out of this world! Her knowledge and humor kept us all on our toes. This was so much more than a trip to the Arctic Circle. It was a history lesson of Alaska’s native tribes, it was an experience in Alaska’s ecology, it was an up close view of the pipeline and a story of it’s construction. We rode on the same road as “Ice Truckers”. We had cake at the Arctic Circle including going out of the North entrance so we made sure we really it the Arctic Circle!! Loved every minute of it!!
