The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

We saw so much wildlife! We saw a pod of dolphins for about 15 minutes swim near us. The sea lions were really showing off on and outside of the caves! There was a whale in the distance also! Our guide-Tucker was fantastic! He was so knowledgeable of the area and really made sure we have the most thrilling experience- he was very aware of his surroundings and kept us super interested and safe :)

It was fun to be in a kayak in the ocean , but there were so many other kayakers and swimmers we were constantly running into other people. The guides were great and made it fun. Not sure why they call it a cave tour since we didn’t go in any caves and I heard that was typical , very rarely do they go into the caves but stay outside. We did see some sea lions and leopard sharks so that was really cool! Overall it was fine but probably wouldn’t recommend to friends unless I managed their expectations.
