Whale season is never over for Captain Zodiac. Join us for a unique experience of a lifetime where we venture into the unknown! Enjoy a morning wildlife watching tour with our experienced Naturalist captains and crew, who share a passion & respect for the ocean and its inhabitants. Kona is one of the few unique coastlines in the world with numerous species of wildlife year-round. We have the opportunity to encounter 17 different resident whale & dolphin species, turtles, sharks, Hawaiian Monk seals, various species of birds and much more. Experience our military grade Zodiac Hurricanes – the same boats used by Navy seals as we explore the diverse habitat provided by Hawaii’s deep underwater geography, an ocean safari for the true adventure seeker!

Fantastic day, loads of fun, and we got lucky and saw lots of wildlife! If you prefer more adventurous things as opposed to sitting on bigger boats I highly recommend this. However I don't recommend bringing a child under age 12 as you will spend most of your time worrying about them falling overboard and not able to enjoy the trip yourself. Although it was safe and my six-year-old granddaughter was never afraid and she absolutely loved it but you still just keep worrying that they'll fall off. absolutely great time super fun!

Morning boating and snorkeling turned into dolphins and whales swimming alongside us. Pods of Spinners and Bottlenose Dolphins were wanting to play. Then we found ourselves with Pilot and Melon-headed Whale pods - the unexpected made everything about this excursion amazing! Having Cap Chuck drive us about would have been fun enough, but seeing the pods of dolphins and whales was a bonus! Snorkeling in the clear, cool water, snacking on fresh 🍍 followed by a coastal (seeing parrots, Red Hill and grottos) boat ride back to shore and this trip could have only been better had we caught ahi.

Sounds like Captain Chuck did not disappoint. The marine life out here can be an amazing sight to see if you can just get lucky enough to spot them. It really does sound like a great snorkel tour to Kealakekua bay. Thanks for taking time to tell others about your experience. Mahalo

Our whale watching trip was canceled due to the news that the whales had left the area. We opted to go out on the Pelagic Tour. What a great morning on the water. Our guide Elliott was terrific and worked hard to show us wildlife and a tour of the coast line.
