We flew into Philly early morning and had hours to waste before we could check into our hotel. We were tired so decided on the bus tour. We were happy with our choice! We loved our guide and being able to see the city without using up the last of our energy. We also loved the idea of being able to hop on and off at any of their stops. Just know that some of the buses will be full and you may have to wait a bit before a bus with spaces free will come by. The second tour bus we got onto, we had a hard time hearing our guide. Luckily, we had already heard the stuff the first time. We were just on it for the ride.

We only saw half of the sites that were listed on the map. The Love statue was being refurbished, the Rocky statue and Rocky steps were unavailable due to the 2017 NFL Draft, we didn't make it past stop #19, They diverted us back to stop #1. There were not enough buses. We waited over 40 minutes at a stop and a bus never came. And some of the buses were so old you couldn't hear over the engine noise to hear the tour guides. Not to mention that the mics would cut out. I would check out the other options if you want to do a bus tour in Philadelphia.

Hello lovethebeach1230 I am truly sorry that your tour experience did not meet your expectations. It is unfortunate that despite the best of plans, some things can go wrong, such as detours and road closures due to the NFL Draft and your feedback is important to us. When events, such as the NFL Draft, impact the tour route, due to road closures and detours, we do the best we can to maintain a regular tour schedule. Our vehicles depart Stop 1 at regular intervals, but due to detours, road closures, and unanticipated police activity or traffic, vehicles can be delayed along the route. All bus tours running in the city during events are impacted, not just Big Bus.

Although the tour guide knowledge of the city was not always consistent, the Big Bus offered ample seating room and a nice alternative to traveling by foot,car, or public tranportation. We had free access by purchasing the Philadelphia Pass so definitely a great value.
