Here you will have the opportunity to get within twenty-five feet of our distinctive Brown Bear in a naturalized setting. The three-quarter acre habitat, set against the National Forest, is the largest bear habitat in North America and is complete with covered viewing areas. Meet their experienced rescuers as they share their love and knowledge of this often feared, but yet revered creature of the forest.  Learn the challenges they experience as they seek to rescue these incredible giants.

Centre des rapaces de l'Alaska
Ensuite, vous commencerez votre visite privée en petit groupe de cet incroyable centre de réhabilitation des rapaces. Situé sur un campus de 17 acres en bordure de la forêt nationale de Tongass et de la rivière Indian, sa mission principale est la réhabilitation des aigles, faucons, faucons, hiboux et autres oiseaux de proie malades et blessés qui sont importés de tout l'Alaska. Le centre (le plus grand de ce type dans l'État et l'un des plus grands d'Amérique du Nord) reçoit entre 100 et 200 oiseaux par an, dont beaucoup souffrent de blessures par balle et de traumatismes liés à des accidents de la route. L'objectif du centre est de réintroduire les oiseaux dans la nature, une fois qu'ils sont guéris et rééduqués aux "compétences de vie des rapaces" (comme le vol) dans le centre de formation au pilotage de l'aigle à tête blanche. Quelques-uns des animaux qui n'ont pas pu être rendus à la nature sont devenus des hôtes permanents. Vous verrez jusqu'à deux douzaines d'aigles, de faucons, de hiboux et de corbeaux résidents, qui contribuent à la fonction secondaire du centre, celle de l'éducation du public.

We finished a cruise in Sitka and had less than a day in town. This tour fit the bill because we really wanted to see these sights before leaving. The owners worked with us about pickup (originally scheduled to be picked up at port, but we arrived earlier than expected. Luckily we were able to make last minute arrangements to change our pickup time/location). Our guide was amazing -- so enthusiastic about her town & the sights. She really made the tour enjoyable and shared her love of Sitka with us.

A short but very informative tour covering what it says in the description. Small group, enthusiastic guides and opportunities for some great bear and raptor photo shots. Beats the bus tours and is much more personable Very efficient in terms of e-mail and booking Highly recomended if you have limited time in Sitka

I always seek out local tours and this has to be one of the best! After I got off the cruise line shuttle at Centennial Hall, there was Bruce, one of the owners, to check me in and give me some guidance on things to do before my excursion left. At the appointed time, Maria loaded up our small van for the tour. Maria, a lifelong Sitkan and real Alaskan woman, really made the tour. She filled our trip with a lot of local color and could point out things that only a local would pick up. Don't do a big bus cruise line tour! Bruce and Rhonda run a great business that can show you Sitka better with a smaller, more personalized tour and even save you some money over the cruise line excursions. Highly recommended!
