Absolutely the best! Captain Mike met my wife and I in May on a horrible day for an outing. Six foot seas, driving rain and wind in excess of 20 m.p.h. He advised he could not exceed our expectations that day, but if we insisted he would go fishing with us. He strongly urged that we accept cancellation and full refund. With honesty and integrity such as that, I HAD to come back to see Captain Mike and go fishing! My son and son-in-law joined me for this visit. We were able to charter with Mike for fishing on two days, six hours Saturday and all day Sunday. On Saturday we set out crab pots, caught 3 good sized halibut and 3 salmon. We were amazed at the bites of halibut that came so quickly after setting anchor. Day two began with salmon fishing, and we scored two more, and conditions for salmon were very difficult. We then went on to halibut, where we caught two good sized fish, and 3 more that were legal keepers, but needed to go back into the water to grow in size for someone else next year. We then went on to pull up the crab pots to find our limit of dungeness crabs in those pots. Mike then arranged for all of our catch to be processed and took us to a local beach for a crab boil. There's nothing better than fresh caught crab cooked on the beach!!! If you're going to be in Ketchikan, by means of cruise line or land exploration, look this up, as you will be well taken care of and catch a bunch of fish. Our box of fish was just under 55 pounds! If ever we come back this way, we will be certain to contact Captain Mike.

If you're going to Ketchikan, Alaska the one thing you must do is go fishing with the Alaska Catch. We were specifically fishing for halibut and our guide was professional, funny, knowledgeable and we actually broke the boat record for most fish caught!

This is the second time our family has fished with Alaska Catch. We were so impressed with Captain Mike we HAD to come back, this time with our cousins from Colorado. The first time we did not know what to expect and had an outstanding time with Captain Mike. He was a true professional and made sure we were familiar with boat safety. Fishing licenses were easy and available to obtain on board. He knew exactly where to fish and we came home with an incredible amount of halibut, salmon, rock fish and cod. This time, the second time, we heard on the plane that the fishing was poor in general in Ketchikan. Many people did not go home with fish. But Captain Mike and his new partner Captain Jimmy did not disappoint. We did a full day fishing trip the first day and a half day the second day. The first day we dropped crab pots and then fished for halibut for the morning. We caught our limit (and also caught rock fish and cod) and then turned to salmon fishing. Lots of slivers and a king. Atmosphere amazing. Captain Mike strives to make this not just a fishing trip but a special experience with hidden treasures along the way (I can't tell you what because it would spoil the fun). Even our teenagers would rather fish with Captain Mike than play on the X-Box. Captain Jimmy was as skilled and delivered on finding fish when other companies did not. If you are in Ketchikan, fishing with the Alaska Catch is the superior choice. They treat you like family.
