I am so thankful I found Captain Mike and the Alaska Catch on this website. Was looking for a halibut fishing excursion during a cruise stop in Ketchikan. Captain Mike is experienced, professional and considerate. My dad who is in his 70's had halibut fishing on his bucket list and Captain Mike made that happen. We caught our limit of halibut along with a couple other keeper species. If I am ever lucky enough to make it back to Ketchikan I would not hesitate to book with Alaska Catch and Captain Mike again.

We hired Captain Mike to take my father, brother, and I on a Halibut Charter while we were in port with our cruise ship. Capt. Mike met us as we disembarked from our cruise ship, escorted us to his waiting boat nearby (only about a 250 yard walk), and took us on an incredible fishing trip. He was a great guide and put us on some very nice Halibut. Capt. Mike works very hard to ensure he provides his clients with an enjoyable trip and to put fish in the boat! I would highly recommend Capt. Mike to anyone looking to try their hand at some Alaskan styled fishing. I will be going back and using him again.

Captain Mike exceeded all of our expectations for Ketchikan. We decided to book a halibut fishing excursion ourselves instead of using our cruise company. Best decision ever! (Hint: book months in advance to ensure you can get Captain Mike) We landed Captain Mike, didn't have to share a boat with strangers (there were 3 of us), and probably saved 30% in the process. Captain Mike was waiting for us as we got off our cruise ship and after a 2-3 minute walk, we were on the charter boat. Mike explained a few options, we could stay closer to Ketchikan and have longer to fish or we could take an hour boat trip to a better spot and have less time but better quality fish, either way there was no guarantee the fish were biting. We chose to make the trip for better quality fish. It paid off! We caught halibut (caught our limit), rockfish, ratfish, dogfish, and one or two others I can't remember. Our prize fish was a 40lb halibut. My father, brother, and I made memories that will last a lifetime thanks to Captain Mike. Captain Mike knows customer service. He is very knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and catered to our every need. He provided everything we needed to have a successful fishing trip, and a few extras (snacks, drinks, portable heater, rain gear). I can't say enough good things about Captain Mike but I'll make one guarantee, the next time I'm in Ketchikan, I'll be on Captain Mike's boat again. If you are looking for a great excursion in Ketchikan, look no further, you have found it with The Alaska Catch!
