Desert Highlights is Moab's original canyoneering guide service. This half day canyoneering tour visits a route that Desert Highlights' founder created as a technical guided canyoneering route in the late 1990's. Here, we explore an area that most people would not visit on their own. With the use of ropes and other technical gear, a competent guide and a sense of adventure, we are able to explore areas that are otherwise inaccessible. The Moab desert is our home and we are passionate about sharing it with others. During your guided tour, you will not only safely descend a beautiful, water-carved canyon, but you will learn about the flora and fauna, geology and history of the area that we are so lucky to call our backyard.

Incredible! Unforgettable! Challenging and fun! If you are on the fence of trying this experience, let me tell you....YOU MUST DO IT! And ask for Kai--the most skillful and encouraging guide there could be! Our family of four (11 years old to 52 years old) loved the intensity of this four hour adventure. We climbed, we scrambled, we repelled tall heights and tested our strength and our fears. Kai taught us how to keep ourselves safe and we completely trusted her, even during daring feats! Your heart rate will go up and for those families that like human powered adventures, this is the one for you! Our family did a lot of fun things during our week in Utah, but guess what? THIS experience with Kai was our absolute favorite. DO IT! And ask for Kai--she is hands down the best guide you'll ever get!

Half a day climbing the Ice Cream Parlor outside of Moab with Herb. Fantastic experience! Herb is awesome, very professional, lots of fun! Highly recommended!
