Visite privée à pied : côté juif du Lower East Side

Aperçu
A tour through the Lower East Side explores the story of immigrant life following the arrival at Ellis Island for Eastern European Jews. One of the most famous neighborhoods on earth, the Jewish Lower East Side hosted remarkable political, social, artistic, economic, and culinary movements that would help to define the modern American experience.

Come learn about the origins of the bagel, pastrami, kosher pickles, socialist movements, iconic department stores, and Hollywood film studios by visiting the Yiddish Forward Building, Eldridge St Synagogue, the Gershwin brothers' childhood home, a historic Loew's Movie Theater, Kossar's Bialys, The Pickle Guys, and a high school that minted many of the U. S. 's biggest movie stars.

We had an amazing private guided tour of the Lower East Side with Jonathan. We had a mixed age group, with participants as young as nine and adults as old as 56. Jonathan was able to engage all of us and keep the young ones entertained. We all learn lots of new things and truly enjoyed spending time with Jonathan. He is friendly, knowledgeable and super easy going. We look forward to taking another tour with Jonathan when we’re back in New York!

Jonathan Goldstein is an excellent and informative tour guide. I learned and saw things I never knew about the Lower East Side even though I've lived in New York City nearly 20 years. Jonathan managed to keep a group of children of varying ages engaged and amused. He made learning fun!
