Croisière d'observation des baleines à San Diego

Aperçu
Whale watching season is all year long in San Diego! Our team at Next Level Sailing provides the optimal experience with guides so experienced we received a 100 percent success rate during winter whale watching when spotting the King of the Deep.

We are one of the best outdoor activities to do in San Diego. Gray whale watching season spans from mid-December through April. Blue whales and fin whales are seen feeding in San Diego from April - August. Humpback whales and minke whales are seen throughout the year, particularly in the spring, summer, and fall. Aboard our 141-foot sailing yacht, the Yacht America, you will see a plethora of whales firsthand in their natural habitat. In addition to whales, we also see dolphins and sea lions, and an abundance of naval activity. Don't be surprised if you see an F-18 fly overhead!

The crew was very charming and entertaining. We saw one gray whale and several pods of dolphins--all fairly close to the boat. The back of the whale only came above water for a short time. We had some weather challenges. The blankets the crew offered us were greatly appreciated. They also communicated with us on our options and forecast before the trip so we could make decisions on going and switch days for those with flexibility.

This is a 2-for-1 trip. The sailing alone was enjoyable on the boat and plus we also saw a lot of grey whales, dolphins, and sea lions. The crew knew where to find them and anticipated the whale's movement. The captain was in continual conversation with other boats to zero in on the best experience.

The weather was awful the day we went, but they did their best to make it enjoyable. We saw a couple different pods of dolphins, and stayed in the middle of them for a while each time. We also saw a gray whale! Even with poor visibility they were in contact with other charters to find a whale. They had snacks and beverages, and even had hot chocolate once the weather got really crummy. Overall, I would do it again. I’d probably check the weather before booking, though. There was no rain on the radar…we were essentially IN a cloud the whole time. I can’t say enough how much the crew did to help everyone stay warm and dry, though. They can’t control the weather.

Thank you so much for your review and wonderful feedback about our crew. I am so sorry that you were in a cloud, that is very rare for San Diego. We can't wait to have you aboard on a warm sunny day. Thanks again, we really appreciate it!
