Aperçu
Savannah’s ONLY after-hours, cemetery ghost tour! Conducted by Shannon Scott, this specialty adult tour delves into layers of secret society topics, ghosts, root doctor ritual work, gangsters, bootleggers, murderous lovers, and other clandestine story gems that Scott defines as “the taboo tales” of Bonaventure. For fans of Midnight In The Garden of Good & Evil? This is the ultimate show as you roam the grounds discussed in the novel where many of the characters are now buried and per expectation told in a highly personal, maverick manner by The Bard of Bonaventure, Shannon Scott!

Bonaventure Cemetery
During this 2.5 hour tour, you will be joining a very exclusive club of people who have seen the cemetery after it closes to the public. Not since it opened in 1846 has this been an opportunity, but thanks to your very special local host, now it is. You are literally locked in the cemetery the entire time; for the right taker, there's no price you can put on the joy of that. Imagine having the serenity, stillness, and quiet of the cemetery, uninterrupted by the living world. Stories stretch from the present day all the way back to Bonaventure's plantation beginnings in 1754. Our topics range from the funny and uplifting to the macabre at its most morbid. Some of the stories that will be covered include those of: • A "hooch runner" for Al Capone • A bizarre love story that ended in one murder and one visit to the electric chair • Savannah's role in The DaVinci Code • Lady Minerva & Jim Williams in Midnight in The Garden of Good and Evil

Don't waste your money or your evening on the After Hours tour - show yourself around in the daytime instead, maybe get a self-guided audio tour if you want more context. But if you're interested in history or culture, I DON'T RECOMMEND. Why? Well, about a third of the way through the tour, we stopped at a grave and Shannon spent 15-20 minutes sharing some of the most batshit conspiracy theories I've ever heard. Some highlights include: - Humanity was born from the dust of Atlantis. - The three obelisks around this particular grave resonate with the harmonic pathways because they form a pyramid like the Pyramids of Giza (we actually passed a fourth obelisk further out, but apparently this one doesn't count for some reason) - The slightly raised portion of Savannah upon which the Cemetery stands was not made by volcanic sand being deposited by rivers over 11 million years, as actual scientists with degrees state. It was actually hand terraced by "the ancients" for celestial interdimensional purposes. - Academius (sic) has kept these truths hidden from us!! There was a lot more rubbish being spouted but that's what I remember. The worst part is that I spent the next two thirds of the tour suspicious of everything that came out of Shannon's mouth - if you're going to share your crackpot theories, at least wait till the end so your audience can trust the rest of your stories. I barely believed a single word he said for the rest of the tour - not what you want from a tour advertised as "perfect for history lovers." The cemetery is beautiful at sunset but it's not worth listening to Shannon's drivel.

This was my third Savannah journey with Shannon Scott Tours. This Bonaventure cemetery tour was part of his 5 Nights of Halloween Event. Bonaventure is beautiful by day, but walking through it at night by the glow of lantern light with Shannon's engaging stories is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. A must do! He is a compelling storyteller. Fascinating, funny and always interesting. I was in awe. I may have to make this an annual Halloween event. If you love history, I highly recommend taking one of his private tours. We had a blast! He will have more time to share his amazing knowledge and passion for this hauntingly beautiful city. He will make you fall in love with Savannah just as I did. Do yourself a favor on your next visit to Savannah and take one of his tours.

Terri, thank you so much for not only participating in our very special Halloween tour series in Bonaventure but also going the distance and attending the finale concert on Halloween night! Never mind being a repeat client! Hope we can do a private tour again sometime with your wonderful family! Happy to know that everything made such a great impression and I'm grateful for you taking the time to share your thoughts with others here! Means a ton! My pup Kelsey McGee sends her love as well as you know!
