Beautiful museum. Had the opportunity to listen to a local Cherokee speak about each exhibit. This was a wonderful addition to reading about their history. Thank you for this wonderful learning opportunity.

This museum has been re-done since we'd seen it when we first came to the area. I wish I could say that I found this to be an improvement but I did not. Artifact heavy and numerous reading plaques reviewing the history of the tribes and their forced departure to Oklahoma. There was a movie theater that was not operational. It might have brought the soul to the very sad history of the Cherokee Indian that was so meaningfully conveyed in story-type verbal passages coupled with moving images that were a hallmark of the previous museum. This museum has been updated and we were so looking forward to seeing it. Not everything that is newer is better and I would say that is the case here. P.S.**** This museum is "reader heavy." Children sometimes have screaming fits. All of us who've had children are aware of this. Taking them outside until they can calm down is a much kinder alternative to both the child and visitors than pushing the stroller around a museum sharing this behavior with other museum-goers trying to read those boards. Sorry the museum staff did not encourage this.

The lifelike Indians look so real, almost makes you feel like you were present when all this action took place. A little disappointed because the theater portion was not available. But, for the money the total historical experience was worth the trip.
