  • A Ghostly Encounter’s Storm Policy (as follows)
  • 1. A Ghostly Encounter tours operate rain or shine. Florida weather changes rapidly and is unpredictable, and we monitor our weather prior to all tours.
  • 2. If lighting is present in the area: we will delay the start of the tour for 20 minutes to give the storm time to pass, then proceed as normal.
  • 3. If lightening remains present in the area, management may decide to reschedule the tour. Guests will be moved to the following evening’s tours or to the nearest date convenient with the group.
  • 4. If rescheduling is not convenient, each guest will be provided a voucher for a future A Ghostly Encounter tour, subject to availability. For offer to be valid, guest must present the voucher directly to our office staff upon returning to St. Augustine or speak directly with the office staff to reschedule (not through a third-party booking site). Please remember to bring your voucher with you. Lost or forgotten vouchers will not be honored; however, vouchers do not expire.

Very boring, we ended up walking away and went home half way through. Not what I was expecting, was expecting to go into homes or buildings. You just walk around outside and hear stories from the guide. The guide seemed knowledgeable but I have a feeling half the stories are either made up or there is serious embellishing going on. Three other people in the group walked off after 20 minutes into the tour. Not the worst thing I’ve ever done but not worth the $50 I paid for my wife and I.

It sounds like ghost tours might not be your cup of tea. The majority of ghost tours—in St Augustine as well as throughout the country—are time spent with a trained, professional storyteller and without entrance to specific locales. Locally, the exception to the rule are companies that own a particular building that has purported paranormal activity. In our case, we offer an hour and a half stroll to various, well-documented haunted locations for the chance at a ghostly encounter, and the nightly interactions are hair-raising! However, had you expressed an interest in only entering buildings, we would have gladly suggested that you book our Paranormal Encounter. It’s a full investigation (all paranormal equipment and professional investigator included) into one of the most haunted structures in the old town area: the Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse. Check back with us if you’re ever in the area and would like to dabble in professional investigation.
