On our tour on July 16, around 9:00 am…… our driver told us he was taking a wide left hand swing so that he could turn right down the narrowest street. He then asked us if we remembered the old carnival ride “the whip” and he floored the gas pedal while going around a corner. I slid down the bench and it frankly was unnerving. When we got home we learned of a morning trolley tipping over and injuring 12 people. I cannot imagine the owners allowing this maneuver and I wonder if it was our driver. I would recognize him but do not want to call him out on this review. I just want to let it be known I feel this was not APPROPRIATE. I’m done with trolley tours. I’m now in savannah and because of the bad experience in ST Augustine I will not be able to tour another city.

Our Motto, “Safety First, Courtesy a Close Second” is practiced daily. We have one of the highest safety ratings in our industry, and drive over 3 million miles per year. Accidents like this are rare for us. All of our operations conduct ride along evaluations for all of our drivers, on regular basis, to stay apprised of the driver’s safety practices and driving skills. This is not a case of the operation failing to follow their regular ride along safety procedures. This driver was recently evaluated and there was no incident of this behavior and he received a high rating for his safety. Regrettably, this driver made a poor decision that was independent and opposite of our training. We had a wonderful experience with both drivers we used today. We had two different drivers. I can’t remember the first one’s name, but I believe he said his last name (or his family’s last name) was Anderson and he spoke about being from the area. Our second driver, Kendal, was hilarious, knowledgeable, and made the rainy, stormy, end-of-the-day experience, a great time! This tour was a great way to learn about the city and get around, in an inexpensive way! I highly recommend it!

Great experience. The tour was very informative. The tour guide spoke clear and drove very well. The wait was not bad for the trolleys considering how busy it was. I highly recommend this for sight seeing and learning a lot of the history.
