Experience the thrill of catching a wave on Oahu’s North Shore, known worldwide as a surfing mecca. Head to Haleiwa and learn the basics from a licensed surf instructor who stays by your side, ensuring you catch gentle but rideable waves. Beginners, hang loose — your 2-hour lesson takes place in a protected cove at Haleiwa Beach Park, safely away from larger ocean swells. Choose from multiple options: group, semi-private or private family lesson in the morning, midday or afternoon.

Booked a semi-private lesson for my husband and teen daughter as they had surfed before and wanted a bit more one-on-one time to learn some new skills. They had a great lesson with Lindsay--top notch instruction and a beautiful location as well at Pua'ena Beach. We had thought about surfing where we were staying at Turtle Bay, but glad we booked with NSSG as we got to see more of the North Shore--great experience overall and well worth the money.

I've been counting the days until I could get back here to the North Shore. One of the biggest reasons was to get back in the water with NSSG - Carol and Zory I can't thank you enough! You guys always make me feel like 'one of the gang', and my time in the water with you is one of the biggest highlights of my trip! See you again soon :)

Karen is an absolute surf ninja with loads of patience and the ability to spot exactly where you need to correct and adjust. She sees everything and a couple of times I'd look around for a hint or some help and she'd already be shouting the instruction I needed or arriving stylishly on a wave. She's got so much experience and that is worth every penny. She breaks it down into a sequence of simple actions. Chaining them together is the key. And if you do yoga then you'll speak her language. Or at least the cobra and tabletop poses. Thanks for teaching this out of shape dog some new tricks!
