Thoughtful Chef Tours is permitted and licensed by the Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority (PDA) to operate in the Pike Place market Historical District. The PDA requires any business or person conducting paid tours within its properties and in the public areas of the historical district to be pre-approved and to have a license for this activity.

Ms. Carolyn was awesome just us two enjoying the day. Would recommend her tour very knowledgeable!!!

Carolyn is a retired chef from the South. You can hear the hint of that charming southern accent during one of her spiels. There are a bunch of tasting tours around, but this one combines history of Pike Place Market along with the tour. And Carolyn is very knowledgeable about the history of the Market. She was so sweet (but also spicy ;-) ). She had a funny story about the sasquatch that made us laugh. She will even recommend some of her favorite (sit down) restaurants in the city if you ask her. All of our snack stops were delicious. We got full from the samples we got that towards the end, we had to pause and delay eating the last few. She worriedly asked us if there was something wrong with our sample, and we had to confess that we were already full. Some people may find it's not enough. We thought it was just right. I fully recommend this tour.

We saw a lot and got to skip lines, it was very informative, I’d do this as the start of a trip so you can get an idea of what you want to do later.
