This pass will surely save you some times for the organisation of your trip, but money, not so much.
We paid our 2 days pass 179$ USD
Instead of 199$ because there was supposedly a special rebate that was ending that very day, but it seems like this rebate is renewed everyday with a new deadline date. Because everytime I visit the web site it's written "extra 30% off. Hurry! Sale ends today" So I guess that it's just the normal price, but advertised as a fake rebate. So don't feel any pressure there, this is not a so unique offer.
We used our pass for 6 activities ( The following prices are estimations by the New-York Pass app):
- Big Bus: 60$
- Empire State Building: 44$
- Museum of Natural History: 23$
- 9/11 Memorial Museum: 26$
- Central Park Bike Tours & Rental by Unlimited Biking: 45$
- Catacombs By Candleligt Tour: 35$
According to The New-York Pass estimation of prices we saved 54$.
But when I go to the officials web site of each activities the real prices look quite different...
- Big Bus: 50$ (Note: if you really do pay 60$ you'll have it for 2 days + 4 other tours will be included in the pack, while with the N-Y Pass, you have it for only one day and they make you believe that other activities would have cost you more by princing them as not included..)
- Empire State Building: 38$ (A bit cheaper isn't it?)
- Museum of Natural History: 23$ (ok this one is accurate)
- 9/11 Memorial Museum: 26$ (ok this one is accurate too)
- Central Park Bike Tours & Rental by Unlimited Biking: 40$ (A bit cheaper than advertised)
- Catacombs By Candleligt Tour: 35$ (ok accurate)
With these new numbers our saving has dropped to only 33$. Which is not bad, but less than promised.
But sadly, if we continue our researches and look for values pack in each company, we discovered that we could have save even more money and get more activities included. In fact when we took every packages into account, it looks like we paid way more than we would have if we didn't bought the New-York Pass.
**CONCLUSION: WE SAVED ZERO $$ WE EVEN PAID MORE**
Do your researches and double-check every prices. This pass will surely save you some times, but money, not that much depending on your choice of attraction.
SIDE NOTE: Other informations than prices are not up to date on the New-York Pass app. Example: The Catacombs tour was not 1 hour like advertised, but 2 hours instead. It messed up our schedule of that day and we missed the last fairy to see the statue of liberty because of that.
Plus the localisation map was bugging most of the time and we couldn't safely relate on it to navigate through the city at all time. I thought at first that my phone was too old, but my brother that has one of the last Iphone got the exact same issues. Be sure to have an other GPS app with you!
